O my friend in the old daysamong the shores our ships had no sailors or oars O my friend we prayed to God our tears at your shadow I rejoice and no fearYou are my life in my soul For you I love the one and the all O my friend I wish you are mine But my glass is empty no wine My flowers under the mighty steps had die My winter is cold, bold cloud in the sky My love to you is true and wonderBut my road is storms and thunder O my friend I collect for you all my pearls Please keep it in your shells.
