:( so you are saying that it would be weak, stupid ,naive, and or a thief themselves?

Definitely. But I have a hard time believing sometimes that those that are in bed with the crooks don't know the nature of who they are dealing with on a day to day basis. NO ONE is that sneaky...they always give themselves away. So I would have to add 'weak' to that other partner's description.

what about the victims that end up with partners who a thieves and in the end they rob their own partners as well.... rotten judge of character, or maybe too trusting and naiive, could that also be?

I would say you could either safely assume they are also a thief, since birds of a feather seem to flock together, OR that they are a really rotten judge of character, regarding business partners.

Welcome to blogit. I am looking forward to reading your writing, as a matter of fact I am going to check it out right now. When you say if it really is as simple as it seems, what are you refering to being easy?

Question for this week: If you work with someone and find out that their partner is a thief, can you safely assume that they are a thief and eventually will steal from you?

Seminar I've been prepping for over the past three months is DONE. It went really, really well. I can't wait to share with you the things that happened there. Someone from long, long ago in my past was affected in a way I would have never imagined. The story continues...funny, I thought the last chapter would be wrapped up by about 3 pm today. Not so. Life is so wonderful and....kinda strange! THANK YOU for all of your prayers and good vibes. It HELPED!!!

Thanks, Tzippy. I was thinking much less, like around $2/mo or maybe lower, to encourage readers to try us out. We don't have the reputation of an Atlantic Monthly or New Yorker magazine, at least not yet, so we cannot command much beyond their print subscription prices. Yes, Blogit has so much more, with easy access to what amounts to back issues, but these are treasures about which the general public is unaware and unlikely to become aware if their first impression is that it is overpriced.

cpklapper, yes i think you are right, we would get many more readers if that were lower to be able to just read it should be half price since they will not be able to post.

I posted a suggestion on my blog that Blogit offer read-only subscriptions. Bottom line is that $12.95 per month is a bit steep for people who only want to read and maybe comment on blogs.

In one of my writers groups in Glasgow I have been heavily criticized for having an archaic style which is not natural for the modern age. It has been advised that I should change it. What's your take on this?

Happy Happenstance to share...I saw an eighteen wheeler pulled over off to the side of the road, giving a jumpstart to a little Suzuki Samarai yesterday. Someone was stranded. With that trucker's busy schedule, I thought that was very decent of him. It pretty much warmed my heart, yesterday. Anyone else seeing random acts of kindness out there?

The Jimmy Stewart character, George Bailey, explains how their money paid for another neighbor's house and as that neighbor repays the loan it goes towards yet another neighbor's house. The key is everybody knows who they are lending to and borrowing from so that it is all based on the trust among those who live with each other in the same town. The web, on the other hand, has an anonymity which is fine for freewheeling discussion among those who wouldn't run into each other the next day in the grocer's or barber's shop, but doesn't work at all for establishing trust or stemming abuses of that trust. Likewise with large national banks with absentee owners who care not a whit about your sick aunt and don't know the local shopkeepers from Adam.

Banking works best when scoped to the local level. Congress and the political parties have some fool notion that everything has to be done through large private companies like the Federal Reserve and the private national banks. They would learn a lot about banking just by watching "It's a Wonderful Life" again, especially the bank run scene.

Re donations: I have explored this through the Blogit folks and they don't really want to become a banking institution. I asked Paypal long ago and they said they could send dinero to other people's bank accounts, which is about equivalent to tucking small bills into their shirt pockets, just too personal. The alternative is to get people's US Mail addresses and mail them some moolah.
If it is anonymous that circumvents begging and other backchannel agreements.

This is what I think of the past, I think its past, its gone, it will never return, just forget about it. Unless its something that brings you joy, of course Joy , you should never forget. :) If we got here from wherever we were, that means the journey was bearable and didnt kill us, so as I read this week from a very wise blogger, what doesnt kill you makes you better. So, if you are better now why go to where you were less, why not be grateful for what we have now. I found that when I want to dwell on the past I sit down and write all the things I can be grateful for, and that makes me forget the past and smile again.

Hmmm majroj: concerning 30 minutes a day of thinking about our pasts, that is an interesting thought...I think that would be helpful to most of us. The past is to learn from. Also, PayPal donations from other bloggers? Can you elaborate?

I think we shold limit ourselves daily to thirty minutes of unmanaged immersing ourselves in our personal, familial, tribal, clan or ethnic pasts.

Tzippy, personally I can't forget my past or pretend it never happened, but what I have done is accepted it and let it go, forgiven others (but they don't know it) and forgiven myself. I have learned from it and have looked to the future and decided to make the most of everything...that is the biggest revenge I think, making something of yourself! only you can make yourself happy, and make things happen and only you can decide what to do with the past....think of this you can either, give up, give in, or give it all you got!! I know what one I chose... :~)
