Re: Ciel
Yes, I wondered if digging holes and filling them with peat would be better. It was said that we would not be able to buy peat compost, but it is still available.

I gave up gardening when I got to the point I couldn't stand to be on my knees....

My maternal grandmother had Diverticulitis. I remember her being in a lot of pain from it...In Maryland, we have an attorney named Peter Angelos who made a fortune on asbestos cases. It was enough money to buy the Baltimore Orioles baseball team.

Good morning
Ailments can be hard on a body, especially when one is up in age. I can't imagine trying to dig through rock-hard dirt, and even for the healthiest of humans, this would be quite a job.

The older we get, the more we need to devise simpler, easier ways to accomplish things in former days we could just fling ourselves at and get it done. Wiser, to not risk our brittle selves, and cleverer to find other solutions. Even to actually ask for help.

I like to think the weeds are tougher, they cling harder than they
used to when I wanted to pull them. And the broke-down miseries that follow any such exercise keep me down longer - I know it's global warming and not old age.
