I was just listening to an audible book...she mentions that seniors can partially lose their sense of taste

Re: Re: Good afternoon

Thank you. I bought a beautiful purple Dahlia a few weeks ago. It is thriving and very lovely. I have never owned one before. I was really missing out on a lovely flower.

Re: Good afternoon Sherri

No, that is not going to happen Sheri the roots die it is not like a Dahlia that will come for many years. The seeds germinate well and I suppose they is still time to plant them in seed trays first.

Re: Good Afternoon Goldiec

Yes, they are elegant. Also the birds love them as you know.

Re: Kabu

Never mind it is good fun. Sometimes I see a rather nice odd flower in the garden and save the seed.

Yes Pat I don't have them indoors only to trial at times to see how long they last. Taste buds are not what they were I'm sure of that.

Re: Ciel

Yes it is not a flower I would prefer indoors but one has to go with the flow. I think we are beyond trapping.

We get a lot of those little multi-branching sunflowers, and a lot also come from the mixed bird-seed. I like those, they are yellow with yellow centers.

Relationships and commitments... for some of us, they feel like traps, and the partner becomes an adversary.

There are a couple of areas near me that have tons and tons of sunflowers. They are mesmerizing plants.

I prefer all flowers to be growing and blooming outdoors, where the

breezes, the rain and the bees can visit. Especially sunflowers. They don't want the dark center of the dining room table where the light is on only at mealtimes. I know it's strawberry harvest time here, but so far I haven't acquired a taste for them. It will probably arrive during peach season.

I planted seeds in little seed containers, then into little pots, now they are in bigger pots in the garden. i didn't mean to get the really tall Sunflowers but they are the ones I have. I will have to stake them too as they grow tall.

Good Afternoon

I love Sunflowers!  I prefer mine standing up tall in the garden.  The strawberries sound delicious.

Good afternoon

I love sunflowers. I usually have a green thumb, but sunflowers have got me baffled. We have grown them a few times, but so far they haven't come back. I live near a sunflower field that has hundreds of pretty yellow and brown posies. I wish that I knew their secret to get them to come back each year.
