These days, that doctor would be in big trouble if he divulged privileged information to his friends about any patient! But I bet they still do, in similar circumstances!

Parents and grandparents as I remember it then made it their

business to protect children from too much information, particularly family scandals. This may have been more to protect themselves than the kids, who could be little blabbermouths at just the wrong time and to just the wrong people. I also remember moms keeping track of their daughter's cycles, warning them against premarital anything...

Good evening

That is quite an intriguing family story. Those were the best days. I wish that things would go back to those simpler times when neighbors and families watched out for each other. Maybe you could see if ancestry.com has any old records of your grandparents. Ever since John and I did the DNA test and subscribed to the site, we have found marriage, birth, death, and military records. We even found the boat that John's grandfather traveled on from southern Italy to New York.
