Good Afternoon
Kabu, I remember this time very well. It was a scary time for everyone. The interest rates were terrible and there was sickness everywhere. It's bad right now but in different ways. Covid has turned our lives upside down but I'm hoping for a better time for everyone. It's been a long time since I have thought back to those years and I'm glad they are in the past.

How sad to go without comfort or the touch of another human due to fear and ignorance. You are a wonderful person to understand that need and offer compassion to someone who desperately needed it.

It was a bad time. I had a friend who had to have surgery in the days before they checked blood for transfusions for AIDS. She did not live long after that. I also was friends with a mother whose young son died from AIDS. I could go on and on, but you know how it went.

AIDS was a killer - I'm thankful to folks like Dr. Fauci who developed
the vaccine that can cure HIV. I don't know how nurses do it, dealing with the suffering of folks like the boy you mentioned. I do remember when "Rent" was a big hit on Broadway, but never saw more than short musical numbers from it. Thanks for your post.

I remember you telling me about this. It broke my heart then, and even reading it now brought tears to my eyes. What a beautiful thing you could share your love and care and show him that not all humans are close-minded.
