Over time, I lost interested in fireworks. As a kid, my family and I would vacation in Myrtle Beach. There was bound to be some hillbilly at 3 a.m. setting off fireworks. It turned me off of them.

In fact, the whole weekend party thing is relevant, as the Declaration of Independence was actually signed on July 2, but announced two days later.

Good Afternoon
Happy 4th of July to you, Jim, and Mr. Graysome. A little while ago it sounded like a bomb went off in our front yard. It scared Roy, Michelle, Ceaser, and me. We didn't know what happened. It might have been a neighbor. We really don't know.

I've watched on TV those spectacular light shows in Sydney. Amazing!
