I imagine automation is going to become a big topic in the coming years. For me, I look at it as bad because I do feel that humans need jobs.

Good morning
I started my sunflowers with seeds and placed them in my south-facing window. We transplanted them the weekend after Mother's Day. We really had to keep an eye out on the bunnies and the groundhogs who love to feast on the leaves. They only got two of our twenty-four plants. Several of them are now over three feet tall. I love them because they draw the pretty yellow birds to our yard. A weekly shot of Miracle grow in the watering can helped them to accelerate their fast growth. The rain stopped this morning and we are now looking at promises of a really nice day.

Humidity high. Rick is soaked with sweat from mowing the yard. He is taking his time and resting frequently. Rick has gout too. As long as he drinks his cherry juice, he's good

As one who has had some history of gout, I can recommend getting a prescription for allopurinol which makes up for a metabolism that doesn't know what to do with the purines in many foods, like red meat and shellfish. I take it daily and can eat all the shrimp I want!
When I want sunflowers, I throw wild bird seed around. The black sunflower seeds come up despite the birds, and reseed a lot!

I watched the January 6th Committee hearing, but not
on the networks. My cable provider has CSPAN, which comes directly from the Senate or House chamber, no commercials, no opinions, no sponsors. It was disturbing, but worth my time. There were new videos by a cameraman who was imbedded with the Proud Boys. It showed a more accurate timeline of the events. One thing I found interesting - Fox News Channel didn't carry it, but I saw reports on other channels this a.m. that they interviewed GOP folks who still say the election was stolen... Geez, Louise!

Kabu, I had to smile about what you said about lecturing the gentleman about gout. I have a friend that has gout and I've explained to them many times how they should change their diet and everything that goes with that. I don't know why I bother because my words go in one ear and out the other. Then they go to the doctor and get medicine and suffer for a while and then they are okay. A few weeks go by and I get another phone call saying their gout is acting up. I've given up. I cannot figure out why anyone would put themselves through all of this. I'm not sure about sunflowers in Nebraska but the Garden center will be able to help you. I hope you have a good night.
