Re:

Graysome used to go for walkies on a halter and leash but here if I am outside, the back yard is a lovely large are for a cat to roar around in or eat grass etc.

I also check the sky for hawks and eagles when outside with the cat. Of course, so far, Pixie has been indoors--to her great chagrin! I am thinking of how to build a 'catio' in the yard for her, or maybe seeing if she will take to a leash and halter, and going for walks. The fence in this yard would never keep her in!

I am so thankful for nature. No matter what happens, it's still there for us.

We have a Weeping Ash tree. It is under a preservation order, a lovely tree, but it

likes to try to spread its offspring like crazy. Sometimes squirrels bury the odd walnut

in the garden; it takes a long time to wait for a crop, though. I expect Graysome will

look forward to sunning himself, at least there are not so many predators around. Take care

Good Evening

Kabu, Nature can definitely bring a smile to those that love being outside.  I'm so glad that Mr. Graysome is happy and enjoys exploring the great outdoors.  I'm sure in the evening he likes to go inside and sit with his family.  I can picture this scene in my mind and I love the thought of it.

We have too many cats for the squirrels

We have too many cats for the squirrels  to have time to bury nuts and stay alive.

Re: Growing blooming things, especially with spring's renewal each year,

I have to use pots now. and want more and more perennials; Graysome probably is too big for a hawk but his Mama fussess over him all the time.

Growing blooming things, especially with spring's renewal each year,

are soothing to the soul and bring a sense that all's right with the world, no matter what BS is spewing forth on the TV.  I'd think Mr. G. is too big to be of interest to a hawk, but perhaps I'm wrong about that. I've been told they can pick up a full-grown bunny rabbit, and a cat's not much heavier. Good thing you're watching over him.

I sort of wish I had put into another pot of its own...too late now.

Good afternoon

I have to laugh about the tall plant attached to the nut. My squirrels have hidden nuts all over my yard. I find them on occasion when digging. A few years ago we had corn growing from the scattered corn that I put out for the deer. The birds have a tendency to pick it up and drop it wherever it may land, making for surprises from year to year.
