Good Afternoon
Pat, there's just one thing that bothers's me about how this went down with Will Smith. I know a lot of men and if they get mad and I mean really mad they are going to wallop the guy. It wouldn't be a slap. When he walked away there's be a black eye, busted lip or jaw, and who knows what else. I just can't figure out this whole thing. Something is wrong but I'm not sure what.

I delayed having any opinion on this for several days. There was simply not enough background information about the moment or its motivations.
By now, I have come in on the side of those deploring the moment, knowing and being rather sad for Will Smith, and for Jada Pinkett Smith, suddenly in the spotlight herself for her husband's unthought, over reactive moment. The joke would have been utterly forgotten in moments, had Smith not underlined it so shockingly.

I agree with your comment. The reason I think this is a crying shame is because he blew a life's work and his reputation in less than a minute. Any legal charges will be insignificant next to the damage he's done to his career.

Good morning
I watched the Oscars, and I saw the famous smack. Chris Rock is a comedian. He had zero clues as to Jada Pinkett Smith's hair disease. Will Smith took it to the extreme. There was absolutely NO NEED for the violence that he so casually handed out to Chris Rock in front of a million witnesses, right after laughing about the comment. Will Smith could have easily addressed Chris Rock behind the scenes in a manner that didn't result in public outrage. Chris Rock could technically press charges for assault against Mr. Wonderful.
