Education should be a road to enlightenment and that road should be open to all, along with the many, many paths one may seek along the way. At the end of journey, perhaps we can become better than we were as representative of humankind.

a cool wind here tody has lowered the temperature. I get so sad when I see children not getting a progressive and truthful education. i find I learned so much more about slavery even when I was at school back in the dark ages in Australia.

It is a state managed thing, I think, or maybe even more local, but it has always been easier to be a sub where I live. Charlie subbed for a while, and really enjoyed working with the elementary levels.

Good Afternoon
It's in the 20s here today and it's snowing. This is Cleveland weather in March. Your post reminded me of something I heard on the news that surprised me. The schools have decided to drop some of the qualifications to be substitute teachers. They were having trouble finding substitutes. I was really surprised about this because I thought the teachers had to have the proper requirements to be in a classroom. I guess I was wrong because the rules are changing.

I swear - there must be something in the air all over the world causing brain damage. Although, two of my close friends, now retired from teaching for 10 years, told me that they got out just in time - there was too much politics happening in the board, members who couldn't teach whatsoever, and it frustrated both my friends to no end.

I am sorry things are shifting so badly to the wrong side...
Especially the school thing. It's happening all over, and these mostly conservative types are banning books that people need to read in order to understand others.
