I love Rocky Horror! A writer friend in St. Louis from our Write Along group gave me a copy of the movie. Did you know Tim Curry hates when people ask him about his role? I think he is embarrassed by it. Who cares? It was fun and campy and also starred Meatloaf, Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon. (those tidbits are for others. I'm sure you already knew)

Good grief... people that BUY my work.

I think my wife is spiking my Diet Cokes.

Re: Establishing time and place in a story, especially one based in

Exactly. My first dystopian novel came out in late 2012, and despite Amazon taking it offline at least five times, it still sells quite vigorously. By late 2013, I wanted to do a second novel in the same style, so I began to search for the 'genesis' or reason for the dystopia part to emerge. I started at least fifteen times to pin the genesis on multiple news stories, but each time I thought I was off and running, the topic died because the story was not fact-based.

I have about 24,000 words I have written that I have kept along the way. Of course, I will need to go back through them, remove old references, and put in new connections. I was bored one day, so I began to go through the story and removed as many bad references (use the Word term search function) as I could find. I left gaps in the story structure to know where to add my new material.

I believe that a good fiction story needs to be based on fact somewhere along the line. I can't even remember a story I have written that was not based on something I have experienced or witnessed. This new murder story is so based on truth that I had to change more about locations and IRL (In Real Life) people than I normally would do due to the number of people who know me personally and regularly by my work.

Establishing time and place in a story, especially one based in

a historical context is very helpful to me as a reader.  Maybe it's because I was trained to put in a place and time slug at the start of news reports, way back when.
