Good for her! Management seems to take what you want and put the not in front of it. Then give you exactly what you don't want as a way of thumbing their nose at you and what you prefer.

Toward the end, I felt less and less like Superman and more and more like an 80-pound weakling as she faded away. I have never felt so useless as that happened.

Several months ago I left a volunteer job for just that same employer attitude, but I didn't do it with grace - made a complete ass of myself. Not sorry. Thank you for this powerful, heartwarming post.
