Re: sassyass,

I imagine having to wear a gas mask to handle all those chili peppers!

My hubby would have loved it!

I make spicy chili with five types of peppers for my hubby. The gastro concoction would give me heartburn for days, so I prefer a milder chili with lots of beans.

You could also top it with cheese and that helps as well.

I always order a side of sour cream with Mexican or have it if I eat any Mexican food at home. I can’t tolerate hot spices, not even ordinary black pepper. No one in my family was or is that sensitive to capsaicin.

I love my food hot but the hottest i have ever eaten has been Indonesian. Their dishes really burn right through, clearing all my sinuses and making my ears burn.

Good Afternoon

Ciel, I love your memory.  Your father loved it!  I think that's awesome.  My son loved it.  Thank goodness I had someone to give it to.  I'm not sure what I would have done with 6 quarts of chili.  I made a lot because I was going to freeze it for quick dinners.  That didn't work out so I had to go to plan 2.  It worked.

My only problem now is that I have no ground meat left in the freezer.  That's my go-to place when I'm looking for something to cook.  When I went to Giant Eagle yesterday they were offering a 73% blend for ground meat.  I didn't buy it.  I figured by the time I cooked it there'd be nothing left.  I usually buy 80% but never 73%.
