I do not answer unknown callers if they mean well they can leave a message.

I just look at called ID. If I don't recognize the number I don't answer it. If it is not a scam they can leave a message and I will return the call.

Plus, which, it's a scam - none of the money goes to your local police,

and most of it goes to the guys in the "benevolent" association.

Re: adnohr,

Yeah, blocking doesn't work for that reason. If you get a live person, at least you can tell them to take your number off their list... or ask for their legal department. But mostly they are bots these days.

Re: Goldiec,

Every year. Maybe twice a year...  Not as bad as the car protection scam for a vehicle that is 17 yrs old, or the ones who want to give me a better percentage on my credit cards, because they have noticed that I always pay off the account before they can charge any fees.

Re: sassyass,

Another friend tells me that he asks, "Do you like spaghetti?" as soon as they start. If they can answer this, they are not bots.

It's a crazy time!  I'm glad you don't fall for this!

You need to blow a really loud whistle into the mouth piece next time.

It is that time of year for pranks, scams, solicitations, and political calls. Since I bought a whistle, our unwanted calls have been minimal.
