I remember my 3rd birthday was on a train coming back across the nullibor desert from Western Australia to South Australia. I got a pink hard plastic duck to float in my bath and big Sis who was already6 got a yellow one exactly the same.i didn't like that It was my birthday.LOL

Ciel, That's a shame about the birthday you experienced with clues to gifts
and your parents being disappointed. I'm sure they meant well. Often children as so excited that it is hard for them to concentrate on things like clues to gifts.
I remember one birthday when my mother was in the hospital. My auntie hosted a little birthday party for me.
