- Go to saturday early wake up.
I know it sucks but they start at the crack of dawn to avoid as much of the afternoon heat as they can. It gets hot up there dealing with all that dark material which absorbs the heat.

Roofing work is early in the morning and annoying.
I am one who goes to bed by 9:00 pm, but then I am up at 5:00 am with the hubby. I send him off to work and then head out myself when day breaks. Your kitty was lucky to be saved by you and Wiley. We found a 5-week old kitten a few years ago who had been thrown out onto the highway. She had a broken jaw and she was afraid of humans. We rescued her after much chasing and hissing. Our oldest daughter took her to the vet. Today she is still skittish, but much happier and healthier.

For a time, there was a lot of construction of new houses on my street, so I was awakened a lot early. It's nice when the work is done.

Hard to sleep with roofers, that's for sure! I'm a night owl and getting up early has always been difficult for me so I'm glad you got to go back to bed and get some sleep. I do hope they are finished and clean up everything, and that Mr. G isn't disturbed anymore.

Early riser
I love the way you view life. You make the best of it. I'm usually up no later than 4:00 a.m. but sometimes even earlier. We do go to bed early because I get everyone up and ready to start their day. I've tried to sleep in but I just can't. My early morning drink is always coffee. I love it!

Funny how being a mama trains you to wake up when it gets too quiet.
I could always feel okay to be putting supper together as long as I could hear the kids in the next room, talking or playing games or watching TV, but if it got quiet, I knew they were up to something. Sometimes I miss those days. Hope you and Graysome enjoy the rest of the weekend.
