Well Kabu I have given up watering, I let Archie do it , I said you can have the flowers.

Just don't expect me to get up at 5pm .I did last year, but I decided then to call it a day. I noticed the string beans are turning in. He has tied 200 staked dahlias . I shall have to pay for the water, I have a dozen tomato  plants. He is out there now 7pm.

Word fo the day: strikhedonia - the joy of being able to say "the hell with it".

Now I am sure many, if not all of us, could use this word. It's a good word for these days and times.

I don't know how many of you remember the miniseries based on Colleen McCullough's book The Thornbirds. I sit here watching it. I'm sure our dear Kabu knows it. The tale of the Clearys and Father Ralph. The aged matriarch loved the young priest and sought to make his life hell upon her death. She recognized his love for her granddaughter and made sure that he would never leave the priesthood for her by bequeathing her land and money to the church on the proviso that Father Ralph oversaw it.

How lucky to have lived in Sydney.

I have been out of the country as far as Mexico and Canada. Here in Pittsburgh the humidity is overwhelming. It is in the 90s too. We are expecting rain, but until it arrives, the nasty stickiness from the humid air makes it hard to breathe.

From what I remember reading, desalination is also incredibly expensive to do. Best be avoided.

That section of Australia sounds a lot like California with the water supply. I imagine everything is growing beautifully there in your yard. I hope the weather stays cool and pleasant this evening. You take care.

Kabu

It s been in the 70s and 80s the last couple days. The skys been pretty clear. In this city, the morning fog often masks the dawn. You can tell the sunrise. The radio reports it, seeing it from their studio, more clearly than from here. The heatwave returns this weekend. I coped with drought restrictions, in the 90s.

We who live in the "south 48" think of Canada as always cool, even

snowy - but your location in Camelot North is pretty close to the border so I guess you get stuck with the heat and humidity sometimes, too. When I lived in the Pacific Northwest, our state's northern border was next to British Columbia - and the journey from the states to BC was one ferry boat ride away in some places. I never experienced the tropical heat and humidity until I moved here - still haven't gotten comfy with it.  Have a good day.
