Re:

Thank goodness for digital technology. Now I can take 100 shots of the same thing and hope that one or two of them will catch my eye when I start looking them over on my computer. Of the thousands I took yesterday, I've saved only 35 or so so far. Of those 35, four are absolutely stunning (in my never to be humble opinion).

I've posted it here some time ago, but I was taking photos at Kitch-iti-kipi back in the summer of 2016. It was about 8:30 in the morning, and rain was imminent. A light wind was picking up speed as the storm moved in, and we knew we needed to get back to the car before this lightning started. I had taken at least 200 shots across the pond when my nephew bumped into me, and I slid to my right. I shot four more photos, before the rain began to fall.

As I looked at those photos later, there were lots of 'nice photos,' but nothing earth-shattering. When I saw the first of those last few pics, I saw something that hadn't been in those other photos. Colors were different. The same things I saw in the other shots began to scream out at me. I studied each one until I got to the last one and I stopped breathing. Two small steps to the side changed the angle and what I was seeing. That last shot now resides on two of my walls. One is a 11" x 14" photo and the other is a 36" x 24." I look at it when my soul needs nurturing.

In the batch I took yesterday (I still have to sort another 300 photos or so, I've found four that will soon become will be on my walls as 11x14's. Two may end up as 36x24's. I love being out in the forests. Bringing home the memories is even better.
