Re: I'm not sure why I hate "selling" so much, but my masterpiece

Thank you.

If I were you, I'd clean that thing up and post it up for sale. You can use some of Amazon's free software to convert it. You might never sell a copy, but at least you could point to it and say, 'See! I did it!'

The hard part is done. With the new software, converting it is a simple thing. You can even have them make your cover at no cost.

Do it. It will make you smile. I'd even buy a copy.

Re:

Go over the heads here? No. I just don't want to alienate or irritate people with my political thoughts or beliefs. Unlike most of you, I am a political animal and have been since August of 1968. I was in Grant Park in Chicago in early August and returned at the end of August of '68. The damage done to that beautiful park during the Democratic Convention was horrific. The Antifa criminals are doing the exact same kind of damage on the west coast.

I worked for Gerald Ford in his home district for three years before he became president. I spoke with him many times after he became a 'civilain' again. Despite how the press portrayed him as an inept fool who couldn't tie his shoes laces, he was a good and decent man. I also met Ronald Reagan twice as he was president in the Oval Office while with Mr. Ford. I had photos, but they were lost in a small fire.

My son (Skip) not only met George W. Bush, he became friends with him while he was in the US Air Force. Skip is now a captain in the Army with over 18 years of active duty service. Every time W. was in Texas, Air Force One would go to my son's home base at Dyess AFB for service. Skip diagnosed an issue with AF1 that the general that was his pilot disagreed with. Skip was right and the general was wrong. The president asked to meet with him, and offered him a Coke while in the lounge area of the plane. Every times after that, when ever AF1 was at Dyess, the president would ask to meet him.

I know and have been in the home of Betsy and Jay DeVos as they live in the Grand Rapids area (Ada to be exact). I've had dinner with them, and despite what the press says (again), she is a very nice woman whose family has (and continues to) donated tens of millions of dollars to the area just as the Ford family did. The DeVos Health Center, the Betty Ford Clinic, and several other community orientated service centers.

I have taken enough political classes from my local community college and from the University of Michigan where I argued with ultra liberal professors to be able to handle myself with all kinds of politicians. I worked with and campaigned for Ted Cruz in 2016. It was Senator Cruz who reached out and straightened out a mess on a state level although he was not a local state official.

If you read my story about my wife, the local agencies were denying my wife all kinds of care and aid when the idiot Obama took away my perfectly fine Blue Cross and gave us some BS 'insurance' that didn't pay spit until we had spent twice what we were making in a year. Judy was dying because we couldn't get her proper care.

I gave the Senator copies of her medical issues and of the letters the local agencies were telling us. I was on the verge of a emotional collapse when I met him in Kalamazoo. As a campaign aide, I was allowed to have two minutes 'one on one' with him, and instead of kissing up to him, I explained our situation to him and begged him to stand in the gap for my wife. He handed the material to his top staffer and asked her to look it over and take what action she thought best. He hugged me and told me that he would do what he could.

I left the stadium where the event was being held and headed home, which was two hours away. I was still forty minutes from home when my cell phone rang. It was the stupid bitch who had repeatedly told me to screw off. This time, she was all apologetic and nice and telling me that I "must have misunderstood what she had told me." Yeah, right. After that, Judy began to get the help that she needed. In the end, it was 'too little, too late,' but I owed the time that she gained from that intervention to Senator Cruz and his staff.

So. It is that type of stuff that keeps my political writings keyed only to those who know and desire to read 'political intrigue.' I don't write or post it here so as to not upset the people I consider friends. My beliefs are based on what my Father taught me (check out that story some time), the things I have observed, and the things I have seen that were not as the press portrayed (portrays) them. Ya see, I also attended a number of journalism classes while at the University of Michigan. I know what they teach and it sure as heck wasn't 'fair and balanced' reporting.

As I get that political story going or as I continue to clean up my other story (something it desperately needed), I can email it to you on the installment plan. Just drop me an email at bmoc66@gmail.com and tell me you want my political stories. The first one is just in the opening stages of clean up and a serious re-write, while the second one is in the formative stages. I have about 10,000 words into it, but they aren't in a continuous format. I've written segments that portray part of the intrigue, but they need to be 'glued together.'

LOL. Holy crap. Over 900 words about a subject I told you I wouldn't write about. This is why I don't talk politics here. LOL

I'm not sure why I hate "selling" so much, but my masterpiece

will no doubt turn to dust in the file drawer before I try to push it anywhere. I hope your hard work pays off.

Selling is an art as much as writing, it seems. Very good that you know both.

Re:

Thank you.  I am well aware of the problems of attempting to write when the mind is previously occupied. I wish you the best.
