Sometimes the fingers can't type the words your forward mind
wants to get out there because the mind behind the curtain is taking up all the energy for behind-the-scenes new stuff - sooner or later it will bubble to the front where you can get at it.

Re:
Amen.
I grew up on William Gaines 'MAD Magazine' & 'Tales From the Crypt' magazine and loved them dearly. I often tell people that the four people who influenced my writing were from youth on up, I'd say it was Truman Capote, Dorothy Parker, Thomas Wolfe, Earnest Hemingway, and Stephen King. Capote and King taught me story arcs, Hemingway and Wolfe taught me color, while Parker taught me humor.
If Iw as truly honest, I'd have to include Gaines as well. His wit and sarcasm live on in me and many other 'MAD Heads.'

Nothing like horror and drama. I was a fan of Penny Dreadful.
