A twelve-pack of Diet Coke is all I'm getting right now. This is a friend who has had a 'life-long dream' of writing and is trying to make his personal dreams come true. He sent me the manuscript, and I found several 'structural errors.' I emailed him first, and then called him to walk him through getting his story back on the rails.
It was a decent story, just his story line needed some moving around. I didn't do it for him, I explained why 'Part 7' had to be placed earlier in the story. I pointed out two other entries that I thought needed to be moved around. After seeing what I meant, he read his material again and saw where these various parts should have went.
I would have paid a lot of money for such assistance when I first got started in 'real writing.' I made a lot of early mistakes, but I learned from them. As I always post here, should you need some free advice, just ask me. I'm happy to show you what I have learned, often the hard way. Why should you struggle when I can show you the holes to jump over?
