There are two other things to explain. The title of this story and the reference by one of the well dressed men, calling their victim, ‘The Riddler. Both of these items are easily explained if you will indulge me a few more words. As law enforcement began its search for the man who disappeared July 30th, 1975, they found the house where they think that he died.

I saw the man looking us both over, Mark in his work clothes and me in a clean tee-shirt and cut-offs. After a moment of thinking, he motioned us to stand up. He pointed at me, “You don’t look like you’ve worked much today. What are you here?”
I might be wrong... but should it be "Why are you here?"

We heard the machine shut down, and then a set of footsteps began to come down the hallway toward us. The door opened, and a man with a revolver stepped in. At that point, I didn't need to simulate fear as I terrified. "What are you guys doing back here? How long have you been here?"
Should it be "as I was terrified"?
