Re: Ciel

Yes a surprising variety of colours . I used to plant a real hardy variety that bloomed in winter ,but I think they are rarely seen as seed now.

Re: Kabu

Blue bells are a good spreader they come up in swathes where my Mother once planted a few bulbs on the Father's grave.

Re: Corban

Yes Corbin several are left but only small ones the heating costs are so high.

I have a couple of plastic  tunnels.  I had some net ones last ear but have given

those up as we usually get a couple of snowfalls and the tunnels collapse

. We have much milder winters than we did even 60 years ago,

I think a lot of it may be that we are surrounded by houses puffing out warmth.

I guess the daffodils are offered so cheaply by the store because of the scent, and others feel the same way as you do...That warmth can keep us going.

Do you have a greenhouse?  Is your winter climate warm enough to allow you the work with that variety of plants?

I love to watch the daffodils bloom. Jonquils, my mother called them. You poem has truly beautiful lines, "the oceans of my mind" - love it.

If you don't pick daffodils they spread, meaning more every year...or they should. I adore seeing the daffodils it heralds spring which will happen here about half way through April I suspect.

Here there have appeared in grocery stores primroses in pots, a favorite of mine for their gem-like colors.
