When a book or a book series is adapted to television, I am always curious to see how it will come across...I have learned many things from seeing both.

I also read the first several OUTLANDER books, and enjoyed the tv version for a while. The author herself had a bit of walk-on presence in a scene of a Scottish clan party, and was involved in the project.

I found her writing eminently readable, and remember finding it one day in the bookstore shelved in the Romance section, and feeling indignant that it was not in the Historic Novels section.

Oh yes, Soul Sister, I mosst certainly have read Outlander, and all of the books in the series Diana Gabaldon has written, plus a few of her other offshoots. She is extremely well-educated, an M.D. I think, and began the first book as a "test" to see how she would do writing a novel, if I recall. I do love the show. She appeared in  an episode of Season I. I've got the books in my library if there are any you'd care to read that you've missed.

That is something that I have never read, or seen.  Is it about Australia?

I know neither Di Gab nor her books. I guess it's an unfortunate gab (sorry, I mean gap) in my education, and I suspect it will remain unfilled...
