This makes me a little regretful that none of my family have ever been close in my generation, any way. Never much trusted or liked any of them, never felt particularly welcomed by or warm to any but my mother's sister.

Things have changed a lot over the years in terms of how families interact together. What was considered normal and logical back in the day is now seen as being nosy and interfering.

I love family history, both my own and that of others.

There's one (or more) in every family - a handsy Andy - but thankfully

most of the women in the family know and find ways to protect the children.

Like I said in my blog, my Aunt Patty was the closest thing to an actual aunt  My dad had an older sister, but because of my parents divorce I didn't get to see her that often.  I was close to some of my great aunts.  They were always fun!  My great Aunt Cherry was my favorite.  She was my grandmas baby sister.  She was a riot!  lol

Kabu

It's so interesting to read of family memories. Imagine your Gram having to speak to her son at that age! Some people have a sixth sense about those types such as Gram's son, I think. I think people now are so careful about not interfering. At least you know both sides of your family, dear Kabu.
