The first one made me sad. I knew a family who had a son the same age as one of mine. When he was two he got into a container of caustic lye and ate some of it. He lived but he could never speak after that and he had to be fed through a stomach tube the rest of his life. I have lost track after they moved, but as far as I know he is still living like that.
