As Pat will tell you still the best for a throat is to gargle with salt water. The things that you buy to sooth the throat all have something in them that ends up making one feel sick.

It may have been fried in lard... very uncorrect these days though it's flavorful and `i hear it is less objectionable than butter, actually.

We used to have real fish and chips, i think the secret probably was the fat they were fried in . Nothing like it now.. I found a drop of whiskey and sugar as good as anything for itchy throats. As long as Charlie is not driving.
