I fully sympathize and agree with Son#1 - birthdays are for children, like that cute Marianna...And her Singer sewing machine reminds me of my grandma who used to have a Singer with a treadle, and we boys used to see  how fast we could make that thing go...

First of all...

Merry Christmas, TAPS.

Actually, it's a bit funny, that you mention Ebenezer Scrooge. I know you mention him while talking about your son #1. But actually I just watched a cartoon edition of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol". I've always loved that story, and this cartoon edition, as well.

Well men do not really like being made a fuss of, well most men. I like son 1 I would send him a birthday card but I don't want to get a thick ear.  Little girls and big girls love it no difference.

Look how grownup Marianna is! And adorable. She and my G-gdaughter

Kaitlin are about the same age - I remember seeing their birth announcements, etc.  As for your son who doesn't want to celebrate his birthday during the Christmas holiday, maybe he'd enjoy it at St. Patrick's day, along with some corned beef & cabbage... And you're right, ignore the date all you want, the years come & go anyhoo.
