Re: Nautikos

That's so nice of you to come back and leave a comment. That's okay, I've done that myself - think that I've commented and then see it's not there. Thank you, yes, it makes me a little dizzy too, which is why I'm not a poet... I'd rather tell stories; short, short stories.

RP

I thought I had left a commenta couple of days ago, but probably pressed the wrong button! Anyway, the gist of it was that you described it extremely well! As for me, writing poetry makes me dizzy, which is why I'm not a poet...

Re: Re: All

This is also for ALL the poets here. Thank you.

To All

My comment to Annicita extends to Kabu, and ALL the poets here from whom I have had the pleasure to read and learn. Many thanks and love to all of you.

Re: TAPS

What I said to Annicita applies to you also. Poetry of any sort comes from a door in the mind that is opened by the soul and finds a heart. You have much of all of that.

Re: Annicita

For me, haiku and other structured forms are difficult because the numerical must flow with the verbal into a cohesive creative thought; a double whammy of art! Kudus to you and all who excel at it for such talent!

Re: FSI

Oh, they do that, and so much more, don't they, FSI!

Re: C_C_T

Thank you, CCT! No need to be careful what you write; just throw caution to the wind! LOL!

ReUku

How true! Most of us parallel each other in some way at some time, some more than others. :) Thank you, Uku! Shalom to you.

Re: shobana

Thank you, shobana! Yes, and then you must access it, arrange or rearrange what your soul sees, and feels, and then spit it out. :)

Great one.  I've kind of dropped off of poetry writing, but I go through spells of it.  I just can't force it.  It has to come of its own accord.

Yes, writing poetry is hard.  I find prose much easier because every word has to be chosen carefully especially in a haiku which is only 17 syllables total.

The great poets have been able to do just that.

Wow! this is funny RP. I feel I shall have to be careful what I write. It does seem that you are cracking it. Look foward to when you cast caution to the wind.

I am glancing here, as I just posted on Jesus & His heartbreaks: parallels

are astonishing. Alas, our glances go different ways. But I will remind anyone who needs to know, JESUS LOVES LIKE NO ONE ELSE - HE IS ENOUGH. People often ask, Can I live and love Jesus alone; is it boring? See Mother S. Theresa, Francis of Assisi, even nuns of today in the USA, in places like Tennessee ... Shalom. Gr8 poem

That is remarkable what you just said. I think the essence of how a poetry forms - it touches the depth of your soul.

Re: Re: Re: Aba

Ah, Aba, I do indeed understand your meaning. One thing is sure, imho, there must be emotion conveyed, positive or negative, or there is no poetry. It might just be a verbal transfer of an emotion felt, observed or thought. One can write of pleasant subject matter effectively. Also, each reader interprets differently. Good point, Aba, and well-taken.

Re: sam444

Thanks, sam444! All that you say, plus a dose of observation and a flair at times for the melodramatic! :)

Re: Re: Aba

Upon being emotionally charged against wrongdoings or unhappy experiences, and writing about these may not bring any calming effect but the release of beng unburdened is there. That's how I wanted to express.

Re: Aba

Thank you many times over for your kind thoughts, dear Aba. I am humbly honored and happy that you have enjoyed this one. For me, it's not always a calming, soothing process, though I imagine it doesn't hurt my well-being any! LOL! Thank you again.

Wow, my dearest Presta

Writing poetry does have a direct effect on soothing, calming and contributes to the well-being of the writer. This poetry of yours today has done so also for me, one of your brilliant ones, imho
