Re: overtherainbow

No Jean it does seem a bit cruel, but they do last a lot longer and the actual plant is happy to produce more buds.

ChiffChaff

I can hear the leaves rustling when they shreik Bro.

excellent write CCT...the screaming probably ended soon after the snippers cut the flower from the plant. Anyway, sometimes one just has to be strong and put some cotton wool in the ears to soften the shrieks.

Re: I like potted plants with roots in soil

Well we don't expect to much from them when cut Ciel. One gives them the last drink each day, usually water.

CCT

Somewhere among my books I've got one called The Secret Life of Plants, which gave me nightmares of being strangled in my sleep by some vine for not having watered it properly...

I do believe that is the real intention, to prolong their lives.

I like potted plants with roots in soil

but cut flowers are a delight to the eye, as well, and less of a sort of adoption with on-going responsibilities.

I've read that flowers tremble when someone approaches them

with scissors... Can it be true?

posted by Pat_B on July 4, 2015 at 6:02 PM | link to this | reply

I have never done anything like that to flowers.
I do use the little packets that come with flowers from the florists for longer life.
I hope that whatever is in those packets does not cause the pretty flowers pain.
