It is the same in Vt. One has to go back at least five generations to be one of them.

That's alright though, their pretty good people. Beautiful picture.

Well yer be a stranger to me. You must get a dog and then doggy people will bark at you.

Funny young women now say hello to me if I am gardening. Their grannies just scowl. But I suppose you would seem young to me if you were in a mini skirt.

I first learned of Frida Kahlo from my younger granddaughter, Amy.

She had an art teacher in her sophomore year who was gaga over that artist, and Amy spotted a book on the shelf at Borders (I miss Borders) when I took her and her brother Matt book shopping one day. Her paintings were pretty interesting, unusual, but I didn't read much about her politics. Amy says she doesn't have much time for art or photography these days - she manages a Journeys store at a mall out in California and has ambitions to move up into a district manager's position. Odd but nice to hear my 20-year-old granddaughter talk about hiring people, checking their Facebook pages before deciding, etc..

I remember when Frida came out some years ago. I never did get a chance to see it...It is wonderful the support we have here on Blogit.

I saw that a few years back, don't remember a lot. I love her boyfriend's work it is great. She was spoiled as so many today. I am sorry about the pain but there are many kinds of pain.

I always thought it would be interesting but never got around to it,

Very good movie review.
Just yesterday The Villalobos Brothers, with their combination of traditional Mexican music and lyrics inspired by modern themes, accompanied a Frida Kahlo exhibit at the New York Botanical Garden.  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqOmdm1HvFw#t=14)

I enjoyed the movie.  It gave me an incite to the life of Rivera, her lover.  He painted a mural on the entire outside of one of the university buildings.

Here is the link to see it yourself:

I studied there one summer.  I enjoyed seeing that mural everyday.
