I'm so late reading this post that everything that could possibly be commented has already been done so, I'm afraid. Or maybe it is just the late hour and my mind is coming unglued like the shoes.

Losing a sole - at a funeral? Yes, this can happen. My best thoughts with you on your loss. Green with pink petals - Lovely and picture perfect. I enjoy reading your poems, your posts period, dear CC.

That happens only when you are wearing cheap quality shoes. But to happen in a funeral it is so much embarrassing.

Re: I don't know why I found it so funny that two people at two funerals
Yes I would never have sussed it out Pat, if it had not been all slightly related. Of course my Brother said a pity I threw them away we could have claimed a new pair. Arthur said to him you should not buy rubbish.

I don't know why I found it so funny that two people at two funerals
lost the soles of their shoes. It sounds like some skit from Monty Python, and I'm thinking perhaps the departed might find it amusing if their ghost happened to be hovering nearby to see who attends their sendoff, and what they say in memorium. I do love the green poem, the fractiousness of it.

I can picture throwing a pail of words up in the air, and as we watch them float you would be snatching a few from here and there to create a poem, one that would make perfect sense as we read it - you just make it seem that easy, and I know it's not.

Some yards are as bright a green as any I have ever seen;
Tamarack is green and pink,
Roses white and red, I think,
Peonies like summer sun
Sweetpeas, vines that cling and run
Up along the green-house wall, they tend...
Remembering the garden of a friend.

shoes...seems as though the coincidence was a thing waiting to happen.
Green, my eyes cannot get enough of it for it stays here for such a short time.
Pink blossom there was a tree on the way into town , perfect shape to draw and vivid pink with flowers.
