Very interesting. We used to have a long distance freight line in this

country, maybe still do, but I don't get out on the interstates much any more. It was called Campbell freight line, and their logo was a running camel, the catch phrase on the sides of their big trailers was "Humpin' to please."

I liked the post. I still think the most exciting way to cross the Outback would be by

truck. That Mercades G Wagon in the picture isn't a bad choice either.

I agree with FSI - it's fun to learn something every day! One of my friends just came back from Australia - he and his wife love the place...have been more than once. I'll ask him if he tried a camel ride.

I would l love to farm camels it seems one just rounds them up like cattle with helicopters. It is a job to imagine all that vast desert. One thing, one is not likely to worry if fracking is enabled there one day. Interesting indeed.

I didn't know about the camels!  I love train trips and that sounds like the most fun to me!  My mom's last adventure was a trip to Australia...unfortunately, she waited until she was too old and had a lot of health issues along the way.

I did not know that camels were brought to Austrailia. As the old saying goes, we learn something new every day...The Spanish, if Ibremember correctly brought horses to North America.
