Re: cct

Yes Jean folk are basically lazy, a man told me he took two tires to the refuse dump they asked for £5 as they have to be disposed of seperately he refused and just dumped them in the ditch as he came home.

Sorry I did not reply to all on my last blog.

I have had a letter from the Water board

My water disposal charges have been considered and

I will get a 66% rebate from this October so they are

screwing me for the previous £100 but from now on

I will be better off through the period of non-watering on the garden

and next year when watering the plants. It is not really a satisfactory

conclusion, if I could eyeball the authorities I am sure I could reclaim

£60 or £70 from last years bill. However it is not really worth the aggro

 to pursue this.

Just a gardening note we have not had a frost and are still picking dahlias.

Archie is bemoaning the fact that chrysanthemums do not sell, they last a

long time in water but Arthur says they are old fashioned and he does not like

them. I have a lot in the greenhouse and shall have to sell them off cheaply

if there is no uptake. I would be pleased if any one could give their

view on this flower as it is no use growing them if the demand is weak.

I quite like the smell of them, but it might be disagreeable to some.

I would go back and answer those I missed but I don't think folk look back that far.

Clocks went back last night of course I forgot and it was nice to have an extra hour.

Isn't there any way you can sue those contractors?

thought only rednecks here in the south buried their garbage. my girlfriends husband did the same thing when he built a large metal shed, she was furious when she found out instead of hauling off the garbage he buried it.  i guess he figured it saved him the cost of hauling to the dump.

this brought back a memory of a piece of land my son bought next to his house, he said for years the owner of the land would haul his garbage to his empty lot and dump it.  when my son bought the lot, i spent many an hour bagging up the garbage, then they decided to just bury it, there was to much to dig up.

Re: adnhor

Yes one has to wear wellingtons and rubber gloves don't you know they hold loads of electricity, not like the lead to your kettle and one would not want to cut that. Also digging trenches is not my forte .

A pity I could have used that Bill.  They use it here to steal the cables.

Re: PAT

Pat my newish neighbor said he worked for a French water board for a few years and the

customers really hated all of them, workers as well. I have tried psychobabble I await to see if it works.

In the U.S. a copy may be obtained where underground utiilty cables are buried sir.

If you don't let the turkeys get you down, dealing with the water dept

can give you endless entertainment, just as long as you know they're never going to give you a break on the bill and your goal is to agitate as you communicate.

Re:Ciel

Don't know Ciel my brother is very nervous about reheating food, he treats all as a potential food hazard. The water is a matter of principle I don't like being charged for

an assumption.

Re: Jimmy

As soon as I saw one end I felt more relaxed Jimmy. Everything goes underground now so one has to be careful. I was told by a chap who did odd jobs that his mate hit a live cable and although no one was injured he had to pay to have it repaired.

Well  Justi not quite so bad as the man who told me he buried his old car under an extension he built, I hope it stands up to the pressure.

It is so difficult to get good contractors with high standards who do what they say they will. I am sorry about that mess. What is this with the water another way to take away people's money? Have agood day.

How awful to find all that stuff buried in your yard.  That's not right!

posted by TAPS. on October 17, 2014 at 11:01 PM | link to this | reply

you won't beat those water people i am thinking but have a go. and fancy burying rubbish in someone else's yard. I hope that they didn't then migrate to Australia.

posted by Kabu on October 17, 2014 at 5:22 PM | link to this | reply

I'm not sure what to say about the sewerage situation, but if you're digging up 'live' wires, cold turkey leftovers should be the least of your worries! You're fortunate neither of you were electricuted . . .

posted by JimmyA on October 17, 2014 at 12:24 PM | link to this | reply

Why would someone not re-heat cold turkey?

Re-heating isn't like cooking it again.

Good luck with your conversations with the water meter people.
