Re: Wiley

Not only that Bro., the price of cigs is horrendous, I bought a packet for a friend. No wonder people have no money. Well the pain is on my left side so it is not too bad.

The blood pressure is low so the pills are clicking in. Hope the water tastes sweet this year I know you and the little lady drink a lot of that brand. Take it easy.

Re: cct

Yes you were doing well on your garden a shame to let it go. I probably would not be so keen but with a helper it is easier to experiment. I am trying different perennial plants this year. Although for cutting, Dahlias pinks, and carnations are the most popular. It also helps the man out of work and the Charity.

Re: Kabu

Well from someone who mauls stones about this is rich. Actually Kabu although you may have been a nurse. How do you think early man survived. 'O! o! I can't go hunting today

I have a pain in my side.' The old Woman spits on the floor. 'Git out of the cave buster and catch an Ostrich for supper or you will have a pain in the ass.'

Re: Adnohr

No of course not Adnohr the fork is just a smaller version of the normal one. It does not

take so much effort to use. A bit frustrating though it takes twice as long to dig a patch.

If you ever employ a gardener make sure he uses a large one. Yes Archie is a proper

old grouser, I just ignore him.

Surprising the smoke that comes from them Jeff I don't know if it is to help create the illusion.

Well you would not want one FS but if one could not give smoking up it might be a wiser choice.

I expect the damage was done Pat. I expect like a lot of us we have suffered from passive smoking. As you say it does trigger a little comfort zone, perhaps memories of

youth.

Re: Some of us are hyper-sensitive to some smells.

Ciel I like the smell of newborn chickens and odd things not cheap perfume that wafts from some females. I don't like silage, or mousy smells. We don't pop much corn so it does not wake me.

Re: Jimmy

I think most folk smoked in the early days. Cigarettes were cheap and no one knew that it was harmful. Most things are in excess, even pleasurable ones. My home grown tobacco was a killer.

I've never smoked a cigarette in my life, so obviously I would have no reason to try one of those 'fake' ones. But I do know what you mean about that lingering smoke smell. It's awful! I've dated a few smokers in my life, and it was never pleasant. Both my wife and I are so glad that neither of us smokes . . .

Some of us are hyper-sensitive to some smells.

The smell of popcorn being popped, or meat being cooked will wake me out of deep sleep. Cigarette smoke aggravates my bit of asthma, and the scents of some washing products are vile! Some medications can affect this. And don't even get me started on cilantro!

At least it's possible to get non-scented laundry soap.

The scent of second-hand smoke, even the faintest whiff, evokes my

mother and the kitchen of the house we lived in when I was fifteen. She smoked all her life until she was 68 and the doctor told her she could smoke or she could breathe. She quit cold turkey. I think of it now as deadly, but even so a whiff does comfort me in a strange way.

CCT

I'm with Arthur on this! I don't mind smells in general, but I detest the smell of cigarette smoke! I did smoke once but quit many years ago (best decision I ever made!), and so have most of my friends! These 'electronic' cigarettes are idiotic as well, but I guess better than the real thing...

I had to look it up...I could not believe there really was such a thing as phlox of sheep.  I thought you were making a joke.  They are pretty.  Why would you throw away 70 pots of them?

I have only seen a few people

smoke those e-cigarrettes. They must not be as satisfying to smokers as the real thing

Haha! Guess Kabu told you, huh? What is a ladies fork? I imagine a type of hoe? I think Archie just enjoys complaining.

Seems to me that both you and Wiley have torn a muscle in your side or possibly bruised a rib and it will take forever to heal. Talk about being brothers. The both of you are hopeless at taking care of yourselves. Both of you forget your age and just plung into heavy work...come what may falls and all.

   and another thing..........

do take it easy on your side, gardening can do a number on us seniors that love to garden the most.  i cast some seeds i have been saving to the winds and have forgotten what they were.  my garden went by the wayside but when the weather cools down i will get at it again.  hospice is a very worthwhile charity.

I've only seen that trashy new smoking device Bro and I'm so happy I quit the cigs 7 year past now. Take it easy with that pain in your side, I have done the same to my right side and my heart on the left side is complaining too.
