It is always fun to read you whether new writing or re-write or one that has been posted repeatedly (which I have not caught you doing....yet).  I got a big laugh out of Arthur refusing to have you cut his hair after he messed up yours.  LOL

Our cat has always been a fussy eater, too

and especially in this hotter weather...and now the dog is likewise....

Re:Pat

Yes especially when the barber starts moaning before he begins. 'Haven't you charged the clippers up, where's the comb? I wish you would wet your hair before I start. Keep your head up straight. Shall I carry on? I cut my own for twenty years, no problem.

Re:

Well he is very rough when haircutting Jimmy just pushes one's head as if it is a coconut

but when one has his head in the lion's mouth it is unwise to kick him. I see your point about the cat, but I think this one is just a victim of age, like me.

Re: FS

I expect you are right F.S. Sadly the ones we should pick are never so exciting.

Re: Justi

I take it you feel better Justi . That's good news. Perhaps it is the hot weather that makes the cat feel a bit fussy, of course my cat must be knocking on a bit she is beginning to get a little granny looking face. I'll try for the stall they are doing a roaring trade.

Re: Cats and haircuts... always uncertain things.

No Ciel, but what is love? Pretty physical I think when one is young. Once when one made one's bed, that was it. Hair will grow, love finds it harder to adjust to the development of personalities .

Re:

Goodness Kabu you always were a bit sulky, I regard you as a long long sister. So I can put up with your tantrums. A good job I stopped you getting on that that motorbike.

CCT

I remember when cats used to work for their living by catching mice - no wonder the world is going to hell in a handcart when they're now demanding tuna, leading to exorbitant prices for sashimi ...But your poem made up for the bad news...

Read you again, paid special attention to the poem...

Such wistful things, your poems - like roses seen through the florist's fogged window...

Chiff Chaff

It is so good to read of your physical endeavours Bro. I am up and down with all of that, especially today after lifting 250 lbs loaded in a huge plastic barrel. Now I have had a 3 hour nap and can manage the computer but nothng heavy for a bit. Enjoyed your poem.

Cats and haircuts... always uncertain things.

The poem is sad.  Love is not supposed to hurt.

Oh how fun it was to read you again. Yes I could see how your cat was acting up mine always do. I only have one now and he is a sassy thing. I love him because as mean as he is he is a sweet baby too. Take some photographs of the stalls so we can get a bead on the sales arena looks like. Sure is good to be reading you again.

Cats are tricky, that is for certain...A tough realization to come to in the poem.

Perhaps the cat was neither fussy nor cunning, but just looking for some variety. I wouldn't want to eat the same packets everyday either! And you must find a way of doing your chores pain-free, if such a thing is possible! Maybe Arthur sabotaged your hair on purpose, just to see if he could get you to wear a certain hat . . .
