Re: Re: Re: Kabu,

And sometimes, to the dismay of the loved, loving does not mean being allowed to take advantage. The If You Love Me... game-- we're onto it!

Re: Re: Kabu,

Re: Kabu,

It is a fact that loving and liking don't always go hand in hand.

Re: Naut,

For what she needs now, yes, the pros are the ones who can take best care of her.

Our family didn't drift apart, it was never together. Not really.

Re: CCT,

Elves, I hear, can be quite feisty and are prone to large families.  How many are you?

Re: Pat,

After the initial adjustments are made, I believe they will both feel better. No doubt Julie will visit her every day, so she won't feel abandoned.

Re: Annicita,

Thanks for your sympathies... It is something, to be in the loop, to be included. It eases a life-long ache, it's true.

I am sorry to hear about your mom...but now you are in the loop again...that has to provide some comfort

Small comforts mean a lot. I hope your mom does okay, and your sis, too.

Well thankfully me and my siblings are good friends . I guess thinking back I must have been an Angel. I could have murdered them all at times.

Ciel

I'm sure your Mom is being taken better by prfessionals! But it's sad how families are drifting apart...

There does come a time when our elderly loved ones are better in care, sad as it is. Julia deserves some living for herself before it is too late. Some family relationships are just toxic and some people behave evil. Wiley and my eldest son and family are really all I have. Sis and I love each other but only just tolerate each other.

Re: FormerStudentIntern.

Some relationships are simply toxic. As for my sister, I don't want any news of her. I doubt if she wants any of me.

Thanks for your good wishes!

Re: Thanks,TAPS,

when they work, they really work. You hear such terrible stories about the bad ones... but Julie got advice on the choice from the several aides who have come by the house for Mom's care for some time now.

Re: dsm tchr,

I hope it will prove to be so for my mom, too.

My father and my aunt rarely speak to one another. Often, they get news about one another through roundabout ways...I wish your mother all the best.

Sounds like a better situation for all concerned.  Our family has found very good care for our loved ones in the nursing centers here.  First my Dad, then Mom, then my younger sister who died from metastatic melanoma.  Now my oldest sister resides in a different one.  Has been there for five years and is so much better off than she was before.  Best of all, she has no big complaints and really likes her nurses and CNA's.  I would have no problem with being in one if it were necessary.

Ciel, our mother went into the nursing home at 92 and died at 94. It was the best 2 years for her. They do very well at taking care of our elderly.
