Re: Re: Re: Kabu,

I think more and more schools are acknowledging and giving degrees for life experience and specialties.

Re: Re: Kabu,

He had his Mother and his wife supported him as well and then he supported the wife when they had babies so it worked out fine. I think that he is hoping some UNiversity will Grant him a teaching degree one day as he works with Musica Viva in the education schools programme more than performing these days.

Re: Annicita,

Bring him back home...?  I live next door to him, and it isn't like that would improve his financial situation.  He needs to go outward, not backward.

Re: Kabu,

It really is necessary to have support and back-up financially and personally to get off the ground.  Kudos to him, though, for resisting the using.

Maybe he can go get the degree now.  It isn't like 40s is old.

Re: TAPS,

I wish her the best of luck! There are, one of Charlie's teachers says, 10,000 hours between starting out and success. He asks further: What are you spending them on?

Re: Naut,

Thanks, Naut--I also think he has some great opportunities awaiting.

Re: FormerStudentIntern.

It helps to focus on the future that is opening, rather than on the past slipping away.

Re: CCT,

He has 6 months after graduation before he has to begin paying off student loans.  His father and I intend to help as much as we can, to get them paid off.

now that he graduates you can bring him back home until he finds his niche and full time job

He is graduating though and that is wonderful. My son was kicked out of the Conservative of music ...they told him to go and perform, he was wasting time at the Con. Trouble with that is, it took some years to make a name for himself so he was broke  for years, some of the big bands were all about dope taking and wouldn't include someone not using, and now he is in his mid forties, he would love to have that degree.

My nephew's daughter, Juliet, is in exactly the same situation in Indiana.  She is so good at acting and everything that goes with it, but now she must find a job that pays money, preferably lots of money.  LOL.

Graduation is one of those rites de passage that inevitably causes one to pause and reflect...But judging by what I have seen and read of your boy, I'm positive he will do well, and of course I wish him great success in an acting career...

Such an exciting time for you and Charlie...It is bittersweet. That is how I felt when each semester ended.

I guess he is still your little boy at heart Ciel. I notice over here that parents are buying  larger houses as the young cannot afford to leave the nest. I don't think staying on at college too long is wise as one builds up too much debt if it is like the system here.
