Re: adnohr,

We have seen some of those darned huge crows around the restaurant dumpsters, and tried to decide if they are some sort of urban raven, they are so big. The true ravens we know in the Northwest are not only huge, they also tend to live far from town, and are solitary.  I think these are just big, well-fed crows.

It is fun going through the books again... and the cataloguing project takes longer than I thought, too.

Re: TAPS,

I'm glad you came by, but spending the day with your lad was a better choice than hanging out with the computer all day!

May your spring come early and sweet!

Darned huge crows tear apart our garbage if it's not in plastic or wood bins. Less fun to clean up after they've had a go. What fun it must be going through those pictures!

I have been so "not good" at reading blog posts and commenting lately.  I can't seem to stay with anything for very long.  Today I got out and went to spend some time with Son #2 for the first time in quite a while.  It was fun.  We watched Gravity together and talked all the way through it.  It was a good movie for that.  Lots of space scenery to watch and easy to keep track of what was going on while we talked of his planned garden projects.

Re: CCT,

I have no recipes for fattened meal worms.

For some reason, if they live in water, I love bugs! Shrimp, lobster...  But dry-land arthropods just... no.

just reminded me to put the recycling bin out our pickup is round 6am, so it is better to leave it out overnight. I didn't once because a man kept putting his dog's do do in my bin, so I had to get up early. I can't understand the animals around your parts. I have had to give three large bags of black sunflower seeds away. The birds will only eat the shelled ones and most of them even strip off the second skin and only eat the kernels. Admittedly the little doves eat the the discarded bits. I think I have spoiled some of them by offering meal worms. They taste better though if well fattened.

It can be tough to keep track of those trash days.

A sunny day with the mountain out and beautiful. That would be sweet.

Hopefully Madam LaDarque doesn't start rummaging around in that trash! Keep her well-fed . . .

Mme. LaDarque's cousins are all at my place - let me tell you, she's got a huge family, LOL...Usually at this time in early spring I'm picking out a Maple Syrup Festival to go to - not this year, since we still have winter. You need cold nights and warm days for the sap to flow, and we haven't had any warm days at all. There may not be much maple syrup this year...
