Re: CCT,

Actually, I sleep on a couple of stacked futons, and they don't give the support that a standard mattress/box spring do.  It is the lack of eveness that is the problem, I think.  My back mostly gripes over things a little too heavy, shifted during the day. I can usually avoid such exercise, but not always.

One of my favorite European birds  is the hoopoe.  Do you ever see them? It's a very silly bird that flies like a drunken clown, and because of its flight pattern, evades raptor attacks, and flies higher than the raptors can.

By raptors, of course, I mean hawks and eagles, not dinosaurs.  It would confuse Charlie if I didn't explain that.

I wish you would sleep on a duvet Ciel, I think your bed is too hard. They are quite cheap  and a sheet over one keeps it fresh. Arthur always snuggles down in a sleeping bag on his bed when he stays over, but he feels the cold. The birds here are really choosy this year they will only eat meal worms and shelled sun flower seeds and sometimes cat pellets the fish and veg., ones. We have not seen the usual birds that

come down from the North, so it shows how mild it has been.

In these parts the mercury has a hard time keeping up with the drastic changes in temperature, but our squirrels, all ten or eleven or twelve of them don't seem to mind - they're busy with their spring rituals, which is really the only sign of spring around here...

It is wonderful to see animals in action.

Busy little buggers, those squirrels. Around here, too, the black

sunflower seeds are prized by the raider squirrels...
