Re: Naut,

There is an element of fiction to all histories.  I wouldn't read this as an only source, to learn about those players in those times, but it is a great adjunct to more formal history.

Ciel

Sounds interesting, and I might like it in spite of myself. I say that because I have a kind of professional mistrust of 'fictionalized' history, LOL...

Re: FormerStudentIntern.

Interesting to see what has changed... and what never does.

Re: Pat,

I imagine if he lived now, he'd be in charge of something... big CEO, maybe... too rich and powerful, too used to getting his own way. Cromwell would be the serial killer. Or the agent. Hollywood, maybe, the both of them...

He was a fascinating character...It is interesting to read of how things were back then.

He was an interesting character. If he lived in another time - say now - and in a regular neighborhood, rather than a castle - they'd probably feature him on America's Most Wanted or Cops or maybe one of those 60 Minutes episodes where they investigate the life of a suspected serial killer.

Ciel as long as you like reading it, it seems strange to me, but I suppose it could be interesting. I knew a lady she visited an Aunt of mine. I can still visualize her now. An old chap I used to sit with as he was derived of company, told me a tale of Kings and maids.
