it's so nice to see some kind of color besides white!

Re: Re: Kabu,

LOl...I am so relieved that it is liveable and mostly cosy. I remember on the farm where the wind always blew because we lived on a Peninsular...and a piece of tine would come loose and bang bang bang...

Re: CCT,

I wonder if your nearly-black geranium is one of those we call Martha Washington geraniums, over here.  They come in other spectacular colors, and are quite fancy.

I have a Kindle that I was given several Christmases ago.  I rarely fire it up, though I know where both it and its recharger are.  I prefer real books that I can turn back easily to remind myself who said what, sometimes.

Well Ciel I was amazed yesterday I noticed half a dozen geranium plants were still growing outside. I did not intend to keep them, but I feel their bravery should be rewarded and I will pot them up and stick in the greenhouse Archie can sell them on his stall later. It has been so mild here, I hope we get some frosts or everything will be haywire. I once had a collection of geraniums doubles rose-buds even one nearly black, but they did seem to succumb to the rust and I suppose I must have lost patience with those rarer varieties. Do you have Kindle? Just running a survey.

Re: FormerStudentIntern.

That happens here, too, and at about the same time on the clock.  But it reappears around 7am.

For us in Maryland, the sun has temporarily disappeared.

Ciel

Intimations of spring? And I don't mind the sound of wind, or most other sounds, but the sound of a vacuum cleaner makes my hair stand on end, like the scratching of fingernails on a chalkboard...

Re: Kabu,

It isn't that leaky, just the occasional moan or hoot when the winds are especially strong. It might be around the door and I probably should not seal that shut.

And it was 2 years ago that strong winds blew the roof off, or a good part of it, so we have a good strong roof now. It's reassuring to know that, and makes it easier to enjoy the winds when I am tucked up cozy in bed.

I remember one week in NZ at my daughter's house when the wind blew and blew, a steady windstorm that never relented. There were no tall trees to be a worry, but after days of it, the constant sound of it began to get on my nerves.

I hate to think of you with chily wind whistling in. Can you get a cna of something that you squeze some glue stuf into those leaky places! Aren't cats just amazing at taking care of self. If there is anywhere that is a bit suny they wil find it.

Re: Pat,

Yes, it should get there in the next day or so.

The budding flowers are all indoors, sitting by an east-facing glass door.  The only buds outside are the lilac buds that set last fall. With this up and down weather, I just hope they don't make an early start on a nice weekend, and freeze again the next week.  That happened last year.

I know you're having the good weather that will be here in a day or so.

But in this neck of the woods, it's nowhere near time to see things budding out. Sometimes I envy your view of the mountain, but then I can always follow one of your links and get a glimpse.
