the only flaw in that theory is that you can only go back so many years on expenses

I don't buy 'em but on the odd occassion when I have I have had my dollar worth of fun dreaming of what to do with the loot.

Seeing all of the people who buy lottery tickets at my father's convenience store, they always feel the next drawing will be their lucky day...

What did I read to be hit by a falling space object was 250 thousand times less likely than winning the lottery. So I guess it is better odds to buy a ticket. Of course Dorrie could double her chance by buying two tickets. She deserves to win.

I figure the actual likelihood of winning

is only slightly less if you don't buy the ticket at all.  And it's a sure thing! However, every ticket bought is a dollar or two more towards education, or parks, or some other underfunded recipient. That's the point of lottery tickets, really.

Pat

"Only Yoouu..."  can make the mundane interesting...another delightful little vignette of daily life...And here's something else that's nice about Canada (on top of the many other nice things) - we do not pay even a penny in taxes on our Lotto or any other winnings, and not only because our penny is being phased out, boohoo...
