What a terrible way to run a hospital, and a terrible way in which our Sir Wiley was treated! Hopefully he is now home for good. And tell Mr. Graysome to cut 'the boss' some slack! Let's see how he would feel if the roles were reversed! Sending positive thoughts . . .

it sounds like a lot has changed as far as the discharge etc, I know here I think in most hospitals you have to have a wheel chair to be escorted out.  Maybe the vets would help him get the help he needs dont you have a vet hospital or is that old fashion too?

Kabu..its good to hear Wiley and you are home...

Its not good to hear how you were treated when discharged...of course, it was much the same when I was finally released - a few nurses saying good bye and good luck..no one to help get me into the car, but thank goodness my daughter Naomi & liz, both, were available....

The ending is happy for you and that is what matters.....but yes, there

sure needs to be that something else in the orientation which is missing.

And for a little while, they looked so... human.

I am back to my previous opinion regarding the Canadian medical system.  I hope complaints are going in to the people who need to take a look and make some changes. If you just hit a perfect storm of incompetence and lack of care and caring, perhaps there are some administrators who would also be appalled.

Letters to editors and govt representatives might be a great way to vent some steam, too. Even if they don't actually care, they might not like the scrutiny your outrage could spark.

Well there must be a Doctor in place of Wiley's usual one. You should have kept the chair , Things are rough here but I think someone would soon shake the system up if it was that bad. I would see if there is a nurse in the district, she would advise or perhaps obtain suitable equipment for you. It is all so sad.

guess i could be so lucky... small town iowa hospital won't even let me

walk out of the psych ward without an escort out the door. then again maybe they don't want me spittling in their hallways or something... nevertheless my hometown hospital gave me an escorted send off last summer when i was in for diverticulitis... can't believe a hospital would treat your wiley in such manner... truly unbeliveable... maybe you two and mr. greysome should move down here to iowa... we'll treat you right.

love always,

pear

We are trying down here desperately not to get to that place where money comes before patients, but I know that you and Wiley will make the best of it, sometimes it is all we can do and I thank God that Wiley has his angel with him...Keep smiling and I'll keep praying.

Things have changed so much everywhere,it's sad but together you will make things work. God bless you both. 🌹

Given the quality of their care, perhaps it's just as well

to be away from that place. The only take-away I get from that is that they don't really think your dear Wiley is in serious danger... But geez, Louise, that was a rude sendoff. You and Mr. Graysome will certainly do a much better job.

People in the medical profession no longer take the hypocratic oath seriously, Grandmummy.  It's first words are, "First do no harm."  I find that to be a most dishonest and disgraceful irony these days.  I'm horrified that you were both treated in such a disgusting manner by these people.  In so many ways, I'm sad that I never made it to medical school.  In many others, I'm glad I didn't.  But you and I have discussed this many times over again, haven't we?

I so wish I could get to Canada.  I'd help you look after Poppy as best I could.

But for now, I rejoice with you that he is back home.  I pray he will slowly heal and return to health.  I love you both forever.

My heart aches for you both. That is a shame that they are not following through.

That is totally disgraceful. I am afraid that is what will be next step in the US. We love you and I do hope the new meds help. Call anybody you can to get you some help for him. You poor dears. Love to all three of you.
