Re: CCT,

l love roast chicken!  Is batter pudding the same as Yorkshire pudding?  My mom used to make that.

It would be nice to find some pickled watermelon rind in the stores before the holidays.  I don't think a lot of people still know about it.  The rind is 'pickled' by being cooked in a sugary and spicey syrup.  It is a nice condiment along side poultry or lamb, as an alternative to either cranberry sauce or chutney.

All sounds very exotic Ciel. Arthur only said today as I surveyed my Quorn imitation chicken taste biscuit size portion and spinach and boiled newish potatoes.  'I would love a roast Chicken with parsley stuffing, batter pudding and roast potatoes. Yes I agreed when it is Thanksgiving Day in USA we could indulge.

I loved this post, it celebrates and lets me help...

And I loved the comments, too. Woo! Hoo! for the daughter who's working with dogs and bringing joy to the world.  Wow!

So glad you had a yummy good time.
I always forget about your daughter who dances with dogs.  When you mention it, it makes me grin because it sounds like some of the Choctaw Indian names my Dad used to talk about.   Hihla ofi = dog dance.  LOL

Thank you!!

I really enjoyed her blog when she was writing it. Very good info, and one can tell she loves dogs and knows what she is doing. SO happy to hear about increased adoptions!!

Re: Adnohr,

Marika moved with her husband to Washington DC and she had to leave the business behind.

She applied to be a trainer at the Washington Humane Society, and they said no, we don't need you for a trainer... We want you to be Director of Training and Re-homing.  She's had the job just over a year now, and the statistics on increased adoptions and I surmise, a balancing decrease in euthanizing, shows her touch.

If ever you do want to consult with her, she has always been very generous with her time and energy.  Mbell@washhumane.org is her work e-mail.

Yum! Fish is one of my favorite meals. I have never tasted key lime pie - am going to google and see what goes in it. Fun way to celebrate your birthday! Is your daughter still working with dogs? I checked her site after she first moved back, but there seemed to be no changes. I haven't been back to her site for awhile now. Will have to check that out too.
