Poor Smokey - it is sad when one gives up. Eating just frozen food can't help. Of course there has to be flowers and green meadows and grass in heaven!

Re: Jay

Sure thing Jay, we must all hope for the best. Dirty little rabbits.

Everything is in the hopes of showing that there is a better world. Sometimes we need to see somebody else get their hands dirty to know how best to keep our hands clean...

Re: I'm glad you did not mention your wooden leg or the scythe you have

No it is better to keep stum about one's little aches Pat, unless one wants to prolong the agony. It is a job to catch some pears just right my Dad used to lift them  horizontally and if the came free that was the time to pick them.

Re:

General malaise I think Jimmy he used to love to explain all his operations in detail.

He just seems to be giving up.

Re: CCT

I don't think one would get much aggro from yobs Naut. I was thinking of putting a knob on the end of my walking stick, but I don't use one yet. Perhaps Heaven is what one thinks it is.

Re: Another stroll through a fairyland...

Sloes are tiny hard quite bitter type of plum like fruits used in sloe gin. Never use restaurants Ciel, but I get your concern. I am very squeamish conscious these days. Although I probably have more immunity than most.

Re: Taps

We used to find four leafs where there was a path through the clover, so I wondered if walking on the plants induced the phenomenon . That was a nice idea.

I loved reading all of this variety of stuff.
It did remind me that when I was a child, in our back yard was a special little patch of clover about two feet square.  It was a little off a ways from all the rest of the clover.  Searching in that little patch, I could always find a four-leaf clover.  Once in a while I even found a five-leaf clover.  I would press them in my Bible and when they were dry, I would glue them on birthday cards and letters.

Here is to hoping that things improve for Smokey Joe. That is great that you are visiting him...I once had a boil as big as an egg on the right side underneath of my chin...I like the way in which the imagery flows in the poem.

Another stroll through a fairyland...

I've often wondered what are sloes?

I hate it when someone nearby in a restaurant has a what-ails-me contest going on with their other at the table.  Or talking of someone's gruesome surgery or injury or illness, in graphic detail...

CCT

A scythe for an arm comes in very handy (pun fully intended) at harvesting time...And your poem tonight strikes any number of strange and interesting chords...

I have a very close friend who is in terrible shape medically ( a long story ) and I always feel bad whenever I see him, since I am perfectly healthy. So, what is wrong with Smokey Joe exactly . . . ?

Some people can be such a bore when they go on and on about their aches and pains and bad luck....I loved your description about the wild flowers and the meadow.

"One man and his dog Spot went to mow the meadow."

I'm glad you did not mention your wooden leg or the scythe you have

for an arm, but there must be times when such would come in handy. Oh, the pears are so nice when you catch them right from the tree.
