I hope you were spared any more rain! And olive oil and balsamic vinegar - a devine combination I use a lot! I add finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes for a dip, and use it for tomato salad with slices of sweet onion, kalamata olives, mozarella and lots of basil...

Re: Re: Kabu,

I'll drown it in Cherry Brandy if it were to work. LOL.

Oh yum to your morning treat and I am here on my old Laptop while Wiley continues to work on my DEl which is a real mess...guess who did it all!! and GRaysome is asleep on the bed.

I wish he liked wet food. WE make a huge fuss every night about his Supper and he has a lick or two of the wet food and that's that.

Re: CCT,

That cherry brandy would make all the difference, especially if you toast it after soaking it.  Wheee...!

And that tale of yours is hilarious... (did I spell that right...?)  The image made me fall right over!

Re: Adnohr,

I think the wheat thing was accidental, which makes some difference.  The word is that cutting that wheat from one's diet also seems to cut out a lot of ailments.

I bought a loaf of gluten free bread, it is a bit dry,

it sets the fire alarms off when I try to toast it,

but it is OK with butter and a soak in Cherry Brandy.

Well I think it would be. Incidentally I must tell you a little

tale while you are day dreaming. The phone rang and I

answered it in my gentle voice. The caller. ' You sound nice. What

are you wearing?'  I answered in my rough voice.

'A bloody big pair of wellingtons and an old Army coat.'

Cick bang.  Silence but for the sweet hum of empty lines.

Perhaps that appeals more to ladies of high standing.

Great Scott - are they doing to food what they did to cigarettes? Addict us all so we keep buying? That kind of view on waking in the morning is inspiring - I look at my mountain and trees to start off my day too.

Re: Pat,

There are some nutritional scientists lately rousing us to the awareness of certain proteins in certain (genetically modified) wheats that actually stimulate the pleasure center of the brain, and thereby, are actually addictive.  So, the old wheats with names... semolina, for instance... don't contain that protein.  And I bet gluten-free spelt bread soaks up dippins nicely, too!

Dippin' sticks -- bread and olive oil plus... sounds heavenly.

It's the thing that's worst for you that forms the strongest addiction - and the gluten in bread exacts a price if I yield to the temptation to have 'just one' slice.  Still, despite the risk, I keep some in the freezer.
