We could all do with some lollypops and roses right now instead of the constant turbulence surrounding us.

way to go ......I too am tired of it all with the hate talk and the killing and all those wars for me from Vietnam on without stopping....Australia follows the USA around like we are on a leash.... sick of nasty divisive politics and good folk tearing at each other's throats..I am going back to my comfort zone...

Re: Annicita - I may be wrong, but I think we're in agreement -

I, for one, am just about in full ostrich mode, head firmly buried in the sand. :)

I don't read, listen or watch the news...it is way too depressing...some people post about it on fb which most of the time I don't even read...too many think they know everything and more often than not what should be coming from their arse is coming from their mouth (sorry if it offends anyone)...

I'm sick of the gov't that is supposed to be protecting us selling us out to major corporations (this includes GMOs as well)...sticking our noses into other country politics that don't want us in their business...

I find that I am much happier and when I do glimpse at the news I can't wait for it to end, change the channel or get up to go read or write a good book.

Stepping down off my soapbox...anybody want to borrow it?

I wonder Pat if the politicians and their families had to be

the first ones in the battle field.

Would this make a difference to attitudes about war?

Your poem is sweet and innocent, I expect we all were once.

I read your post and it prompted all kinds of comments and just then the phone rang and it was son #3 and he and Phil want to take me to lunch and we talked a long time and it made me forget everything I was going to say to you.  I will have to read it again.  I remember liking the poem.  But now, I will just comment about Naut's comment.  I clearly remember back in 2004 standing in the Museo de Madrid in front of that painting trying to figure it all out.  Strange stuff.

Pat

For some reason this post brought to mind that famous painting by Hieronymus Bosch, 'The Garden of Earthly Delights'...

I agree with you heartily~ and many people do.

It  is hard for some of us to comprehend minds that disagree, who relish power overhealth, art, children and simple enjoyment of life and the world.  I had a congenial conversation once with a Libyan, long before Kaddafi's fall, and we agreed: wars are between leaders and most of the 'little people' are quite well aware that they/we are being lied to about each other, and could happily reach accomodations to allow for mutual co-existance.
