They are beautiful! Spring is such a tough time in the beginning! On one hand we want to get a head start and on the other hand the elements pose such difficulties! I hope the tender one survive! sam

CCT...what a beautiful display of flowers!

Bet its bee heaven,too...I remember stepping on a bumble bee when I was a kid and experiencing excruciating pain in the process..needless to say, I stayed on the sidewalk in that particular area after that...

Re: What lovely flowers!

Of course you will Ciel. I think they always look better in another's garden.

Re: JS

Do you know I feel really tired, I think I shall pack up now I have read these comments. I have an email to send to a lady who was a writer on here but is quite ill at the moment. I am going to try making some nest duplicates, reviews on Amazon vary and as you say the ones on offer do not appear to last for long. I don't really mind wasps coming to visit as they take the young caterpillars of the white cabbage butterfly. Can't beat them all.Thank you for your attentiveness .

Re:

Look after the bumble bees Taps. Reminds me of a tale my mum told me. She was a little girl and some bigger boys told her to touch a bumble bee's bum. They don't sting.' She found out the hard way.

Re: lion

You are the lucky one lion. I knew someone who moved from council house and dosed

his large bed of strawberry plants with weedkiller .I thought that was very mean.

Re: adnohr

Probably adnohr, perhaps we all seek something that we can never truly have, maybe we would not want it in reality. What I am going to do is make some fake nests. They might fool a few dozy Queens.  Hope you feel better.

The flowers are just the bright cheer I needed this morning.

I lack your industriousness.

Sweet yearning in that poem, CCT. Are they words of a person searching constantly for something that wil never be? Or maybe a person who would not recognize it when it's found? Beautiful flowers - I love the wild look. As for wasps, I used fake nests too, and they do the job.

I seem to be lucky with the buzzy things - they are happy to come over for a meal but they don't want to move in.  I seem to have strawberry plants taking over the garden, I would call them weeds but I do like strawberries, I suppose it was my own fault for letting the birds have the little ones...

Oh how pretty the flowers.
We are having trouble with wasps and bumble bees also.  The are making nests right on our deck.  I don't like that.  I've been stung before and it is absolutely no fun at all.

Frost can make things very tricky...The poem really touches upon the soul.

ChiffChaff

Those wasp nests work like a charm, we have cut down on the numbers of wasps by 75% I would think Bro.

cc

the poem, if i wrote down all the words that i thought were beautifully put together i would have to copy the entire poem.  lovely, nothing to delete there.

the phases of the moon, all i know about them is that i have a calendar that tells me planting days according to moon signs. my transplant days for may are the 4th,5th & 6th. i know farmers that plant by the moon. in fact most farming done in this area is at night. now i am rambling.

i have never heard of a radiation or hoar frost. but for frost here we also close up the tunnels, or use water.  for shrubs you water the roots. the water keeps roots warm. for delicate flowers i do not know.?

wasps we have those, my vote is for killing the queens, unless to many then maybe the 10 pound brown plastic bag would be my choice, but i wonder how long the plastic will last.
